Open-Source Computer Architecture Research (OSCAR)
Sunday, June 18th, 2023 - Orlando (co-located with ISCA 2023)
OSCAR 2023 is the second edition of a new workshop on open-source hardware which addresses the wide variety of challenges encountered by both hardware and software engineers in dealing with the increasing heterogeneity of next-generation computer architectures. By providing a venue which brings together researchers from academia, industry and government labs, OSCAR promotes a collaborative approach to foster the efforts of the open-source hardware community in this direction.
The topics of interest of the OSCAR workshop include, but are not limited to:
• Open-source processors (CPU, GPU, AI processors…)
• Open-source accelerators (programmable, configurable, fixed-function…)
• Open-source components (e.g., caches, buses, network-on-chip, peripherals, sensors…)
• Software aspects of heterogeneous component integration
• Security, safety, reliability and verification of open-source architectures and components
• CAD tools and methodologies for design and integration of open-source components
• Full-system simulation of open-source architectures
• Infrastructures specialized for FPGA prototyping or chip designs of open-source architectures
• Design experiences with the use of open-source components, tools, and platforms
• Discussion of case studies, applications that benefit from open-source architecture research
There will be a mix of invited talks and presentations selected from the submissions to the call for participation available here. Please, refer to the following timeline for the submission process:
